In the competitive healthcare space, appearing on Google Maps and local search at the right time is critical. Many clinics struggle to rank for common searches like “clinic near me” or “open now.” That’s where I step in.
In this project, I worked with multiple local clinics to optimize their Google My Business (GMB) profiles – ensuring they show up accurately, professionally, and at the top of local results.
Every clinic had its own pain point:
Incomplete business profiles (missing hours, contacts). Lack of category targeting or local keywords. No engaging visuals. Dormant GMB pages with no updates. Inconsistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone) across platforms
I explored terms patients were actively searching — combining medical keywords with location intent. Examples:
“clinic near me,” “family clinic in [area],” “walk-in doctor [city].”
I analyzed the top results in the Google 3-pack for relevant searches. This helped identify what successful listings had — optimized categories, active posts, consistent updates, and reviews.
I applied a structured checklist to evaluate each clinic’s profile — reviewing missing fields, media quality, service areas, and update frequency — to ensure no opportunity was missed.
Here’s how I built a highly optimized presence for each clinic:

Integrated location-based and service keywords in the business description, Services section, and Image alt text (where possible)
Uploaded clean, branded clinic images. Renamed images with geo-tagged keywords (e.g., “pediatrics-clinic-mountroad.jpg”). Added logos and cover photos for better trust
Created GMB posts for weekly engagement: health tips, timings, services. Guided the clinic staff on how to request reviews ethically from real patients. Set up Q&A prompts to address frequent patient queries

Provided login credentials with admin rights so the client can manage or update the profile anytime in the future with full control.
