Creating walkthrough videos that clarify complex workflows is a powerful way to improve user experience. For this project, I collaborated with RNP Tech to create a comprehensive feature walkthrough video of their Accident Incident Report Module — a critical component of the company’s Workplace Safety & Health system.
Let me walk you through how this video came to life — from the first plan to the final upload.
Before jumping into production, I laid out the foundation with a clear strategy to ensure the video would meet both user expectations and internal standards:
The objective was to explain how users can create, submit, and track accident reports — reducing confusion and saving onboarding time.
I mapped the user journey step-by-step — focusing on key stages like incident entry, evidence attachment, and submission status.
Ensured that visual elements matched the brand’s tone and made the video intuitive, even for non-technical users.
Prepared screen captures, UI mockups, icon packs, and a consistent font palette — all ready before editing began.
With the blueprint in place, I moved into the hands-on part of the process:
Captured smooth, high-quality footage of the module in real-time, demonstrating both desktop and mobile views where relevant.
Used zooms, cursor highlights, and transitions to keep the viewer focused on important sections of the interface.
Integrated concise text labels to explain actions clearly, such as “Add Evidence” or “Submit Report.”
Balanced a soft backing track with voiceover narration or on-screen instructions to ensure accessibility.
After editing, I finalized the video for delivery:
Exported in MP4 format suitable for LMS platforms, YouTube, and internal documentation.
Designed a clean thumbnail and wrote a search-friendly title and description.
Included chapter markers to allow users to jump straight to specific actions like "Add Incident Details" or "Submit to Safety Officer."
Shared documentation with the team to support reuse and embedding across internal tools.
